As a result of her visit to Lebanon on the occasion of the 2003 launch, Mrs Gill Prior, founder of this programme established a scholarship that enables a Lebanese nurse to attend a three week "shadow" visit to one of the newest NHS hospitals in the UK, The Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

A young male nurse from the Makassed Teaching Hospital , Mr Bayan Kaddoura, was selected and travelled to the UK. It was his first ever trip abroad. His time at Swindon was extremely beneficial, infact he also became an informal "ambassador" of Lebanese culture and medical training while learning the "English" way of practicing medicine. A special timetable had been arranged for him to "shadow" colleagues in his particular field of interest. His commitment was very impressive and we are hoping to offer this scholarship again in the near future.
